About

I’m a software engineer based out of London, but originally from the Netherlands. In the last couple of years I have mostly focused on version control, software distribution and networking (L3 and up).

At the moment, I work as one of the engineers building a European Cloud at Evroc.

Between September 2022 and December 2023, I was a Senior Staff Site Reliability Engineer at Aiven and just before that I worked as Principal Site Reliability Engineer at Cognite.

Between February 2013 and March 2021, I worked as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer at Google in London, mainly on the authoritative DNS servers and other kinds of frontend infrastructure.

Between 2009 and 2012 I was employed as a Softwa Engineer at Canonical Ltd., contributing to Launchpad, Ubuntu, Bazaar and various cloud-related projects.

My somewhat outdated free software home page can be found at https://samba.org/~jelmer/. Send me e-mail or XMPP messages at jelmer@jelmer.uk, or on Matrix as @jelmer:jelmer.uk. My PGP key is D729A457.
